Crochet Patches

Here is a recent project of mine.

As you can see from the ‘before’ picture these jeans were destined for the trash. But instead I decided to crochet some patches for these holey jeans! I must say I’m very happy with the results. Here is a photo tutorial on my process.

Step 1: Work up your pattern.

I chose a granny square for my left knee and a blanket stitch for my right knee.  Both in coordinating bright colors.

Step 2: Pin it

Place your crochet piece on the inside of your jeans while you pin it in place.  I suggest wearing your jeans while you do this to make sure your patch fits properly and doesn’t stretch when you wear them. Just be careful not to poke yourself!

Step 3: Sew it

Once your patch is in place it’s ready to be sewed on. Choose a thread that is close to the color of your jeans and use a small stitch all the way around.

That’s it!

Now you have a “new” pair of jeans with crochet patches that are sure to get you lots of compliments!

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to link up with Shanonigans on facebook to see more fun projects!

All the best,
